THE  LONG  BEACH  JUNIOR  CONCERT  BAND

Our Mission Statement

The objects of the LONG BEACH JUNIOR CONCERT BAND shall be to organize and maintain a youth musical band to provide musical education and instruction for children between the ages of thirteen (13) and twenty-one (21) years, both inclusive; to teach, train and instruct the said children in the various types, fields and branches of music so that the said children may join together for their mutual enjoyment and to display their musical ability and talent for the entertainment of the general public, and to foster an appreciation of good music and harmony among all people.

The Long Beach Jr. Concert Band is an organization that supports local youth ages 13-21.  For the past 59 years, "Character Building through Music" has been the band's creed.  The organization instills the importance of hard work, integrity, work ethic, teamwork and discipline necessary to be a Championship Winning Youth Band.
 

This year the Long Beach Junior Concert Band celebrates fifty-eight years of "Character Building Through Music".  Come on down and join us as we continue to entertain the people of Long Beach and other cities across California.  When you find how much fun you can have, you will want to join us as we celebrate our next 50 years.  We also would like to invite our alumni to let us know what has happened since you left the band, you can e-mail us here at hq@lbjcb.org.

So if you love music, like to travel, want to meet new friends, and enjoy having a good time... then all you need to do is come down and see for yourself what fun is awaiting you!!!  Don't let this exciting opportunity to be a part of Southern California's Sweepstakes Championship Youth Band pass you by... as the Long Beach Junior Concert Band prepares for another fun-filled, exciting summer schedule of events.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!  You can learn how to play an instrument, specialty flags, auxiliary, solo majorette, featured dancers, or syncopated percussion.  The LBJCB staff will assist you with all of the required training which will enhance your musical skills and marching ability.

The Long Beach Junior Concert Band is a non-profit youth organization open to dedicated individuals ages 12 through 21.  LBJCB is always accepting applications for wind musicians (i.e.: trumpets, trombones, sousaphones, saxophones, clarinets, flutes, piccolos, frenchhorns, etc.), drummers, specialty flags, dancers, and auxiliary marching units.  LBJCB performs throughout the year at parades (competitive and non-competitive with some televised), numerous local shows, civic and holiday events.  LBJCB also has been the featured band in the last 50 consecutive Hollywood Christmas Parades, making more appearances than any other band in the world!

Regular rehearsals are now held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the LBJCB's rehearsal hall.  For more information check out schedule and information pages.
